Reel Life 2010
Winter is nearly gone and there are some good news to spread. So listen what Colin has to say:.
Following on from the success of last years event we are pleased to announce that 'Reel Life' will be back again this year. This years event will be in Paris, one of Europe's finest cities.
Reel Life is an exciting concept which started in 2009 when the first event was held in London. Reel Life changed the face of Streetboard contests forever and became one of the biggest events of the year.
The rules are simple. Put together a team of up to 3 riders; Spend 24 hours in the city; Film and edit a video and present it at the premier party.
That's right, it means for the best results you will need to skate your backsides off for a full 24 hours.
Videos are judged not only on the standard riding, but also on the quality and creativity of your production.
So, go get your crew together for one of the biggest events of 2010.We anticipate a bigger event this year with teams from all over Europe, already confirmed are teams representing 'Day One', 'The True Skool', Flipside, Addicted and the return of last years winners 'Anti Ductil'
We are very excited about this years event, and would love all of you to be involved. If your are interested or would like to know any further info about the event please contact dayonebrand[at]mac[dot]comMore details can be found at the official Reel Life website - www.dayonebrand.com/reellife

freestyle.berlin 2009
No Streetboarding, but interessting anyway!

From October 9-11 we had a great event in Berlin. Freestyle.Berlin 2009 was held for the first time in germany on the closed airport of Tempelhof.
Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Freeski and FMX at it's best! Streetboarding-Berlin's Mastermind Axel S. and me visited the festival to take some pictures.
The results of our trip can be reviewed on my photography page (http://janiszewsky.com) and of course on streetboarding-berlin.de.
Streetboarding in TV
A german TV-Station called RBB made a Streetboard-Report. You can check the article or watch a video, both are in german language.

Remember, remember the 5th of September
We just received a mail from Thomas Kienle with some nice News. A german TV Station (RBB) will visit Berlin to produce a report about streetboarding with the Ositos-Crew. Already known stations are the local skatehall and various street-spots. Come and join, if you have any sparetime!
Stay tuned for further information.
Skating & Injuries
As a Streetboarder you have to handle injuries from time to time. In the past three years, i collected serveral. Started with a broken hand, ripped verses to a broken tailbone, a double-broken sacral bone, a light disc prolapse and at last i broke my right wrist and got some titan plates in it. It never was recklessness, i just bought misfortune in a family-pack.

Now, after the operation on my hand, i can't move it, as i could before - it's nearly stiff. Well, and if you sit around the whole day with nothing to do except standing the pain, you start to think about a lot of things. Is it worthy to destroy your body for the fun of streetboarding? Skating, especially streetboarding means a lot to me. I really don't know what sport i could do, if there wouldn't be any streetboard. In my opinion it is the best way to blow your stress away. I like the way how you are concentrated while skating. No space for anything in my head, execpt the next trick. The fun you have with your friends while filming or taking pictures is just a nice addition.
As i said, after all these injuries i think about quitting. While my heart is still skating, my head tells me that i have to quit. I don't want it, but on the other hand i dont want to be a cripple in a few years.
If the rehab gets the stiffness away from my wrist, i think i will give another try. True to the motto: "You only live once". But what would you do?
